Hammocks on the Edisto is not you typical facility as evidenced by our staffing, programming, gender-specific programming, and the natural beauty. There is not a treatment program like this in South Carolina or the Charleston area. Located directly on the Edisto River in Jacksonboro, South Carolina (just across the Charleston County line, 30 minutes outside of Charleston), Hammocks on the Edisto is a 24 hour, residential, behavioral health care facility specializing in the treatment of women dealing with an alcohol and/or drug addiction. The residents' typical length of stay is thirty (30) days.
Position Summary:
The Recovery Associate/Certified Peer Support Specialist functions in conjunction with the clinical and nursing team, assisting with the daily process of patient care. This includes admission of patients to the facility, psycho-educational group presentations, monitoring of patients, communicating patient and unit issues to others on the clinical team, and documentation. The Recovery Associate, as a core member of the treatment team, must demonstrate the ability to understand and react effectively to the unique needs of multiple patients, with a positive attitude and professionalism. Part-time and PRN positions are available for all shifts (1st, 2nd, and 3rd). Full-time is always a possibility! Qualifications:
1. Minimum one (2) year previous experience working in addictions treatment and/or in behavioral health care is required. 2. CPR/First Aid is desired, but not required. 3. Qualified candidates must have a High School Diploma, with a Bachelor's Degree being preferred. 4. Knowledge of the disease model of addiction, co-occurring disorders, the recovery process, relapse prevention, and 12 step programs/12 step facilitation are highly desired for these positions. 5. Applicants in active recovery are desired, but not required. Individuals who identify as a person in recovery must have maintained at least two (2) years of sobriety and work an active recovery program. 6. Must be relentlessly passionate about making a positive impact on the world and passionate about being a part of our mission of treating individuals who are struggling with behavioral health and substance abuse issues.
Job Duties- General:
1. Perform admissions and orientation of the patient to the facility. 2. Conduct detailed search of patient belongings upon admission. 3. Participate in daily multidisciplinary meeting to discuss psychosocial assessment, treatment planning, and ongoing discharge planning. 4. Supervise urine collection of patients, as necessary. 5. Conduct crisis intervention with other staff. 6. Provide transportation for patients as indicated by supervisor. 7. Conduct educational lectures at admission, during facility stay, and at time of discharge for patients and families, as indicated. 8. Document patient progress and participation in educational lectures. 9. Serve as a liaison between other staff and patients, keeping staff informed of high-risk issues. 10. Document in the chart and on worksheets in accordance with department and facility procedure. 11. Communicate with patients and staff in a professional and constructive manner. 12. Communicate with patients/families to ensure understanding of treatment protocols as indicated 13. Receive patients, family members and guests to the facility in a professional and courteous manner.
Pay:
$17.00 - $22.00 per hour
