Job Description

SUMMARY The Full-Time Painter is a hands-on production position responsible for completing interior and exterior painting, surface preparation, touch-up work, and related facility upkeep throughout Bristol Motor Speedway and Bristol Dragway (BMS/BD).

The expectation is simple:

paint consistently, work with urgency, produce high-quality results, and complete assigned work correctly the first time. This position should maintain a steady pace, move from one job to the next, and pitch in with other Operations teams whenever needed.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL PREFERENCES

Strong work ethic with a dependable, hands-on approach Painting experience with the ability to produce clean, professional-quality work Knowledge of surface preparation, primers, coatings, application methods, and proper cleanup Ability to use brushes, rollers, sprayers, pressure washers, ladders, lifts, and related equipment Attention to detail and pride in finished appearance and workmanship Ability to work independently, stay productive, and complete jobs without unnecessary delay Willingness to work outdoors, at heights, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed Team-first attitude and willingness to support other Operations functions when needed

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Painting & Surface Preparation Perform interior and exterior painting throughout BMS/BD offices, suites, grandstands, support buildings, restrooms, railings, doors, curbs, and other facility surfaces Properly prepare surfaces through cleaning, scraping, sanding, patching, caulking, pressure washing, masking, priming, and other required methods Apply paint, stain, primers, and protective coatings using the appropriate application method Complete touch-up and repair work to maintain a clean, consistent, professional appearance throughout the facility Productivity & Workmanship Maintain a steady, productive work pace and use the workday efficiently Complete assigned painting projects from preparation through final cleanup and move promptly to the next priority Do the job correctly the first time, with proper coverage, clean lines, good preparation, and attention to detail Correct drips, overspray, missed areas, poor coverage, or other deficiencies promptly Tools, Materials & Work Areas Maintain painting tools, sprayers, ladders, lifts, and equipment in safe working condition Keep paint, coatings, supplies, and work areas organized and properly stored Protect surroundings, furnishings, equipment, landscaping, and guest areas while working Clean up areas at the end of each project or workday and properly store or dispose of materials Cross-Functional Operations Support Assist other Operations teams when needed, including facility cleanup, event setup and teardown, moving materials and equipment, and general facility work Assist with the installation and removal of Speedway in Lights displays and other projects Cross-function into other areas when painting priorities allow or business needs require Approach assignments with a safety-first, team-first, whatever-it-takes mindset Safety & Work Habits Follow BMS safety procedures for paints, coatings, solvents, sprayers, lifts, ladders, and personal protective equipment Use proper fall protection and safe work practices when working at elevated locations Report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, or project concerns to the Paint Supervisor Represent BMS/BD professionally through reliable attendance, good work habits, and quality workmanship

NON-EVENT TIME HOURS

Normal Business hours are 7:00 AM

•3:30 PM each day, Monday

•Friday. Some weekends and evenings will be necessary based on business needs.

EVENT TIME HOURS

Business hours during race time may increase up to 14 or more hours a day, Monday

•Friday with weekend requirements. Event schedules and assigned responsibilities may require additional hours.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Travel to other Speedway Motorsports tracks may be necessary. It is not anticipated that this would exceed 10% of the time.
