The Maddox Student Activity Center (MSAC) Control Desk Attendant supports the mission of Carson-Newman University by being responsible for monitoring the control desk, weight room and cardio room, MSAC 3-gym, and MSAC facilities equipment. The Control Desk Attendant will also train, assist, and manage all MSAC facilities' student workers as well as report to the Coordinator of Recreational Services and Intramurals with updates on the facilities' equipment and usage.
Essential Functions:

Regular attendance during scheduled work hours reflects a commitment to our shared mission and the campus community. If applicable, all work must be performed in alignment with the terms of the signed contract. As Christian educators, all employees of the University should regularly attend and actively participate in a local church. Open the Control Desk and operate the daily functions of the MSAC schedule as determined by the Coordinator of Recreational Services and Intramurals Training, assisting and managing all Student Experiences facilities student workers. Managing student, faculty, staff, and guest check-in and access to all MSAC areas. Minor equipment maintenance and logging of functional status of equipment. Monitor and maintain cleanliness and safety of facilities via regular housekeeping sweeps of all facilities. Enforce and uphold all MSAC Gym Policies to ensure the safety of all parties while using the facilities. Update MSAC Gym & Facility Policies as necessary Create, operate, and manage a social media presence for the MSAC Gym Facilities. Create a weekly post of scheduled hours to ensure all students know the hours of operation. Be creative with content showcasing the equipment, functionality, and items available for use at the Control Desk and at the Facility. Create and lead initiatives, programs, or challenges related to physical health and wellbeing as being an Image Bearer of God, in conjunction with the Coordinator of Recreational Services & Intramurals Coordinate with the Coordinator of Recreational Services & Facilities to manage a team of 10+ student workers who will work set hours at the Control Desk. Create an effective schedule for each Student Worker to fulfill their weekly hour requirement. Must publish schedule within a timely manner. Ensure the Student Workers properly work their designated hours, log their hours weekly, and confirm their hours are correct. Ensure all hours are logged correctly and in a timely manner for payment through our Finance Department. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned and included in assessments and reviews. Education:
High School Diploma required.
Experience :
1-2 years' experience working in a related field is preferred.
Required Skills:
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a variety of individuals from various backgrounds. Demonstrated skills in customer service, planning, and management. Skills in problem-solving, organization, and general housekeeping. Experience in utilizing the Microsoft Office suite and social media/marketing platforms.
