Job Description

The Facilities Manager is responsible for the overall management, maintenance, and reliability of the building infrastructure and critical utility systems supporting a highly automated solar module manufacturing facility. This role ensures uninterrupted plant operations by maintaining facility systems including HVAC, electrical distribution, compressed air, water systems, fire protection, and building management systems.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Manages all building and facility equipment/system related design, planning, installations, upgrades and repairs according to industry standards ensuring smooth and timeliness of startup and support of production ramps. Designs, plans and implements facility related solutions to upgrade and repair existing or newly required facility capabilities. Manages facilities including office building, plant clean rooms, electrical, HVAC, fire and Life Safety systems, process cooling water, CDA, exhaust and any other required central systems Develops and manages Capital Expenditures (CAPEX) project roadmaps for facility-related equipment and systems ensuring effective planning, implementation with cost controls. Sources and manages outside contractors and design firms to complete projects safely, on time and within cost, along with service providers to manage day to day support of facility and offices. Oversees the operation, maintenance, and repair of all facility systems and utilities. Maintains building infrastructure including roofing, lighting, structural components, and security systems. Develops and executes preventive and predictive maintenance programs for facility equipment. Monitors and optimize energy usage to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs. Manages relationships with utility providers and oversee service agreements. Supports sustainability initiatives aligned with renewable energy and environmental goals. Tracks utility consumption metrics and identify opportunities for cost savings. Ensures compliance with OSHA, environmental regulations, fire codes, and local/state building codes. Coordinates inspections and regulatory audits. Oversees life safety systems including fire alarms, sprinklers, and emergency systems. Partners with EHS to maintain a safe working environment. Supports equipment installations by ensuring proper utility capacity and infrastructure readiness. Manages contractor selection, scope development, budgeting, and project timelines. Oversees facility layout modifications to support production growth and workflow efficiency. Supervises Facilities Technicians and contracted service providers. Develops training plans and ensure technical competency within the facilities team. Manages vendor relationships and service contracts to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness. Develops and manages the facilities operating and capital budgets. Monitors expenses related to utilities, maintenance, and contracted services. Develops and maintain emergency response plans related to facility systems. Leads response efforts during power outages, system failures, or natural disasters. Other duties as assigned. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field (or equivalent experience). 7-10 years of experience in facilities management within a manufacturing or industrial environment. Experience managing critical utility systems in a high-volume production facility. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, HVAC, mechanical systems, and building infrastructure. Experience managing contractors and capital projects. Knowledge of OSHA and environmental compliance requirements. Project management and capital planning; financial and budget management Strong leadership and communication skills Crisis management and problem-solving ability
Work Environment:
Primarily onsite within a manufacturing facility; regular exposure to industrial environments and mechanical systems.
Preferences:
Experience in solar, semiconductor, electronics, or other advanced manufacturing environments. Experience in plant start-up or facility expansion projects. Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or similar professional certification. Knowledge of building automation systems (BAS/BMS).
