Job Description

FACILITIES SPECIALISTRESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the Facilities Manager(s) in all aspects of project implementation as neededCreate and take part in meetings and presentations with executive leadershipProvide campus wide reporting on departmental spend, ticketing, and other metrics as requestedMaintain contracts for facilities services such as elevators, cranes, waste, recycling, pest control, landscaping, and other repair servicesObtain multiple bids from competing contractorsPerform job walk-downs with vendors, engineers, supervisors, and managersWork with the purchasing department to ensure vendors are approved, vetted, and insuredAssist with badging, ITAR, NDA requirements, and safety trainingCreate RFPO s and assist buyers with vendor selectionEnsure purchase orders are accurate with no cost over runs
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalency certificate5+ years of facility vendor and contract management experience
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Experience with facilities within the aerospace industryFamiliarity with space planning procedures and operationsKnowledge of computer applications and the ability to easily navigate through different computer software programsAbility to create and update RFPOs and facilities work orders in an ERP softwareAbility to work effectively in a team environmentAbility to make independent judgments with limited informationCommunication skills for relaying data (verbally and in-writing) between other employees, vendors, and customersLogical and strategic approach to solving problemsAbility to read and understand basic floor plansComfortable working in a high-stress environment balancing several projects at any given time, and the flexibility to adjust for abrupt changes in strategic directions
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Schedule varies based on site operational needs, extended hours and weekends could be required; flexibility requiredMust be willing to travel to other SpaceX locations for significant/extended periods of time as needed (up to 85% of the time)Willingness to relocate to Starbase, Texas with potential for shift work in a remote locationTypically exposed to work in extreme outdoor environments heat, cold, rainWork performed in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noise
