Job Description
The Camp Grady Spruce YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas is actively seeking a Properties and Facilities Specialist. Camp Grady Spruce is located about 90 miles west of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex on 535 acres on the shores of beautiful Possum Kingdom Lake in North Central Texas. PK Lake is one of the clearest lakes in Texas and is known for its dramatic cliffs and beautiful, rolling hillsides. Common outdoor activities include boating, diving, swimming, fishing, and hiking. Camp is home to an abundance of wildlife, and it is common to see white-tailed deer, bobcats, and roadrunners along the trails. Under the supervision of the Res. Camp Facilities Director, the Building & Grounds Keeper is responsible for the carrying out of a planned preventative maintenance program, and the care of the grounds. The Building & Grounds Keeper is responsible for carrying out all maintenance related work orders and emergency maintenance needs. Responsible for the care and maintenance of all company owed tools and equipment. Responsible for the security of all company owed tools, equipment, vehicles, building, inventory, and security of the buildings. Maintains grounds in an attractive manner at all times: lawn mowing, trimming, edging, leaf raking, shrub trimming, lawn seeding, care and watering of flower beds, etc. Responds to general maintenance requests and emergency orders. Interprets and promotes all aspects and programs of YMCA Camp Grady Spruce. Responsible for grounds upkeep and all other duties as assigned. The Building & Grounds Keeper must have working knowledge of operating mowing equipment, landscaping, and painting (including zero turn mowers, weed eaters, and tractors with brush hog).The Building & Grounds Keeper must constantly be concerned with safety - both as it relates to campers, guests, and staff. Must be able to read and write and follow directions. Must be albe to work long days and in the cold and heat. High School Diploma or GED. Must possess the knowledge and understanding in how to keep a camping facility well maintained. Sufficient physical strength and agility to carry out essential duties of this position is required. Must maintain a valid drivers license and pass driving requirements as set by the Risk Management Department.
