full-time Audubon is currently seeking an Asset and Facilities Manager to join our team in our Houston, Texas Office. The Asset and Facilities Manager will be responsible for the governance, accuracy, and lifecycle management of all company assets and facilities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, audit requirements, legal obligations, and internal controls. This role serves as the financial and governance owner of fixed assets and facilities, partnering with Engineering, Operations, IT and site leadership to align physical stewardship with balance-sheet accuracy and risk management.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial and Accounting Own the fixed asset subledger and asset master data; Enforce capitalization, depreciation and impairment policies; Part of approval process for asset additions, transfers and retirements; Reconcile physical assets to the general ledger; Support monthly close, audits and financial reporting. Governance and Controls Design and maintain asset lifecycle controls; Lead physical inventory programs; Define tagging, tracking and disposal standards; Ensure segregation of duties across asset processes. Operational Coordination Partner with Engineering, Operations, IT and Fleet; Establish asset custodian accountability by asset class; Translate operational changes into financial updates. Risk, Tax and Insurance Support property tax filings and asset situs reporting; Maintain property schedule and work with Legal department to ensure that adequate insurance coverages are in place. Maintain defensible asset records for legal matters. Facilities Management Oversee facilities management strategy, standards and governance across corporate offices, operational sites and project locations; Ensure facilities assets (buildings, improvements, systems, leasehold improvements) are properly capitalized, depreciated and retired; Establish facility lifecycle standards covering preventive maintenance, major repairs vs capital improvements and end of life decisions; Partner with Operations to ensure facilities support safety, productivity and regulatory compliance; Coordinate facility-related asset data for insurance, property tax, risk management and environmental and safety compliance. Systems and Data Own asset management systems and integrations; Improve data quality, reporting and lifecycle visibility.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business; Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license and/or MBA preferred; 7 - 12 years' of progressive experience in fixed asset accounting or capital project accounting or asset-intensive industry finance; Attention to detail and accuracy; Multi-tasker with an ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects; Self-starter, proactive and focused in adding value to the organization and the multiple stakeholders; Strong excel skills for reconciliations and audits; Hands-on experience with ERP fixed asset modules and asset tagging and inventory processes.
