Job Description

Position Summary:
The Facility Manager is responsible for managing the operations of a warehouse, ensuring the timely and efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of goods. This role requires strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills to oversee a team, optimize workflows, and maintain inventory accuracy while ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision and Leadership:
  • Manage a team of warehouse staff, including employees loaned from other departments.
  • Assign tasks, provide training, and ensure optimal performance of the team.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
Inventory Management:
  • Oversee the receipt, storage, and distribution of goods, ensuring accurate inventory records.
  • Track inventory levels and reorder stock as needed to prevent shortages.
  • Perform regular stock audits and cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy.
Warehouse Operations:
  • Develop and implement efficient warehouse processes and layouts to optimize space, reduce costs, and improve workflow.
  • Oversee shipping and receiving operations, ensuring that orders are processed on time and accurately.
  • Ensure that goods are properly labeled, packaged, and stored according to company standards and safety regulations.
Fleet Operations & Management:
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of all fleet vehicles and equipment.
  • Schedule and track preventive maintenance and repairs
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal maintenance teams.
  • Minimize vehicle downtime and ensure availability for operations
  • Maintain accurate vehicle service and maintenance records
Compliance & Safety Management:
  • Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, FMCSA and local regulations (as applicable)
  • Manage vehicle inspections, registrations, permits and licensing.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, ensuring that all safety procedures are followed.
  • Ensure that the warehouse complies with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions for the warehouse team.
Logistics & Coordination:
  • Coordinate with operations, sales, and other departments to ensure smooth operations and timely deliveries.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers and carriers to ensure efficient inbound and outbound logistics.
  • Plan and oversee logistics activities to minimize delays and maximize efficiency.
Reporting & Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory, shipments, and receipts.
  • Prepare reports on warehouse performance, including inventory levels, order processing times, and safety compliance.
  • Analyze performance metrics and implement strategies for improvement.
