This role carries a strong emphasis on electromechanical systems, including rectifiers, plating line equipment, pump and motor systems, electrical distribution, and automated process controls. The ideal candidate combines hands-on technical skill with the leadership ability to manage a maintenance team and coordinate with production, safety, and outside contractors. Key Responsibilities Electromechanical Systems Oversee installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all electromechanical equipment including rectifiers, DC power supplies, plating line drives, conveyor systems, and motor controls. Maintain and service pump systems, filtration units, agitation systems, and fluid handling equipment throughout the plating operation. Manage PLC-based and automated process control systems, coordinate with controls vendors for programming updates and repairs. Perform and supervise preventive and predictive maintenance on motors, starters, VFDs (variable frequency drives), and related electrical components. Troubleshoot electrical systems up to 480V three-phase; ensure all work meets NEC and OSHA electrical safety standards. Facilities Operations Manage all building systems including HVAC, exhaust ventilation, lighting, compressed air, plumbing, and wastewater pretreatment infrastructure. Oversee facility maintenance schedules and ensure equipment uptime meets production requirements. Coordinate capital improvement projects from planning through completion, including contractor management and budget tracking. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, equipment manuals, spare parts inventory, and service histories. Safety & Compliance Ensure facilities operations comply with OSHA, EPA, local fire codes, and all applicable environmental regulations governing a metal finishing operation. Maintain fume exhaust systems, emergency eyewash/shower stations, spill containment systems, and other safety-critical infrastructure. Participate in safety audits, incident investigations, and corrective action planning. Coordinate with the EHS team on permits, inspections, and regulatory reporting related to facility systems Leadership & Vendor Management Supervise and develop a team of maintenance technicians; assign work orders, provide technical guidance, and conduct performance reviews. Manage relationships with outside contractors, equipment vendors, and service providers; obtain and evaluate bids for projects and major repairs. Develop and manage the annual facilities maintenance budget; track expenditure and identify cost-saving opportunities Qualifications Required 5+ years of facilities or maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, with demonstrated electromechanical expertise. Strong working knowledge of electrical systems, motor controls, PLCs, and industrial automation. Experience with pumping systems, chemical process equipment, or fluid handling in an industrial setting. Familiarity with OSHA, NEC, and environmental compliance requirements for manufacturing facilities. Proven ability to lead and develop a maintenance team. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills; able to diagnose and resolve equipment issues with minimal downtime. Preferred Experience in electroplating, metal finishing, or chemical processing operations. Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent certification. Knowledge of wastewater pretreatment systems and associated regulatory requirements. Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) software. Associate's or bachelor's degree in Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
