Active Secret Clearance Required Overview A federal contractor is seeking a Project Manager to lead operations for a large-scale facilities and base operations program supporting a secure government training installation in Virginia. This role is responsible for full contract execution, workforce leadership, and customer engagement across facilities maintenance, custodial, and grounds operations. This is a hands-on operational leadership role, not construction project delivery. What You'll Do Lead day-to-day execution of a ~$12M facilities operations contract supporting a federal training site Oversee a workforce of ~100-120 personnel across maintenance, custodial, and grounds teams Manage facilities maintenance operations, including preventative and corrective maintenance Drive performance across a unionized workforce environment Serve as the primary interface with government stakeholders (State Department) Ensure compliance with security, safety, and operational standards Own contract performance including budget, staffing, and service delivery Lead program stabilization and performance improvement initiatives Required Experience 5+ years of facilities maintenance or Base Operations Support (BOS) experience Experience managing large federal or commercial service contracts ($8M-$20M+ preferred) Active Secret Clearance (required to start) Proven experience managing: Large teams (75+ employees preferred) Multi-service operations (maintenance, custodial, grounds) Contract performance and compliance Experience working directly with government customers / program stakeholders Preferred Background Experience supporting State Department, DoD, or secure federal facilities Background in union workforce environments Experience in security-sensitive or regulated environments Prior Project Manager or senior operations leader on facilities contracts Experience in rural or remote site leadership What Makes You a Fit Strong, visible leader who can drive accountability and workforce performance Experience operating in challenging or underperforming environments High level of customer engagement and communication Strong understanding of security compliance and operational discipline Comfortable stepping into a stabilization / turnaround situation
