Finance Associate, Facilities Management The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia $50k and $55k per year, based on education and experience. United States, Virginia, Charlottesville 1215 Lee Street (Show on map) Aug 26, 2026 The University of Virginia's Department of Facilities Management is seeking a detailoriented and analytical Finance Associate to support financial operations for a diverse and missiondriven organization. In this role, you will serve as a key partner in monitoring financial performance, analyzing data across major operational programs, and ensuring the accuracy of transactions in UVA's financial and project management systems. This position offers the opportunity to build strong financial, analytical, and systems skills while contributing to the stewardship of the University's physical infrastructure. Candidates with a passion for data, problemsolving, and continuous improvement will thrive in this collaborative environment.
Duties:
Analyze financial activity across funds, projects, and programs, ensuring accuracy, appropriate coding, and alignment with University and departmental policy. Monitor financial performance by reviewing account balances, identifying variances or anomalies, and providing insights to support operational decisions. Perform corrections and adjustments within the University's financial systems, maintaining a high standard of data integrity. Develop and maintain financial records and documentation to support internal controls and audit requirements. Prepare reports, dashboards, and financial analyses that support leadership decisionmaking and operational planning. Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to troubleshoot accounting issues, streamline processes, and recommend workflow improvements. Participate in training sessions and regular meetings to stay current on evolving policies, procedures, and financial system enhancements. Other duties may be assigned to support the mission of Facilities Management.
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's degree required.
Experience:
None required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency using Microsoft Excel and Office applications, or equivalent. A degree in Business, Finance, or a related field. This position is based in Charlottesville, VA and there is an on-premise expectation of at least 4 days per week. Compensation range of between $50k and $55k per year, based on education and experience. This position will remain open until filled. This is an exempt level, benefited position. The University will perform background checks on all hires (if required) prior to employment.
