Job Description

Summit Classical Christian School is seeking a dependable, service-oriented Facilities Manager to oversee the care, maintenance, safety, and ongoing improvement of our campus facilities as we cultivate generations of joyful disciples rooted in Truth to the glory of God. This role reports directly to the Director of Campus Life and plays a vital role in creating a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and families. Primary Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the school and contractors, subcontractors, engineers, inspectors, and service providers regarding facility operations, repairs, and capital improvement projects.
  • Conduct daily campus walkthroughs to proactively identify maintenance, custodial, safety, and operational needs.
  • Help coordinate and monitor facility projects to ensure timely completion and effective communication.
  • Maintain working knowledge of compliance requirements related to the Washington Clean Buildings Act and other applicable facility regulations.
  • Perform hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and custodial tasks as appropriate to support campus operations and responsible stewardship of resources.
  • Respond promptly to day-to-day facility issues and operational requests.
  • Coordinate and oversee vendor relationships and recurring services including HVAC, elevators, fire alarms, sprinkler systems, security systems, landscaping, and other building systems.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain preventative maintenance schedules and procedures.
  • Organize and lead volunteer workdays and campus improvement efforts.
  • Support campus event setup, facility scheduling, building rentals, and shared-use coordination.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, compliance documentation, inspection records, and service reports.
  • Serve as the primary on-campus contact for facility-related partnerships and shared building use.
  • Support campus safety procedures, emergency preparedness plans, and security protocols.
  • Remain available for facility emergencies and participate in an on-call response process as needed.
  • Perform custodial duties as needed, including cleaning public spaces, trash maintenance, and supporting a healthy, safe, and welcoming campus environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned in support of the school community. Qualifications
  • Experience managing commercial, educational, church, or institutional facilities preferred
  • Experience coordinating preventative maintenance programs, contractor/vendor relationships, and safety compliance preferred
  • Basic working knowledge of or willingness to learn HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and building systems
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and respond effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with basic technology systems, email, and digital record keeping Physical Requirements
  • Ability to regularly lift, carry, and move up to 100 pounds
  • Ability to safely use ladders, hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment
  • Ability to perform physical tasks associated with maintenance, custodial work, and campus operations

Pay:
$30.00 - $38.00 per hour
