Job Description
The Manager, Facilities & Engineering I provides strategic leadership for the maintenance department and oversees the daily operation, upkeep, and reliability of all facility infrastructure systems across Amery Hospital & Clinic and related offsite locations. This includes mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, medical gas, life safety, and building automation systems, ensuring that all physical environments remain safe, functional, and fully compliant with applicable federal, state, and local regulatory standards. The manager directs preventive and corrective maintenance programs, monitors building and equipment performance, and oversees grounds, exterior areas, and contracted services to ensure operational readiness and system reliability. The role collaborates with internal and external partners to support capital planning, infrastructure improvements, and facility readiness across assigned sites. As a key organizational resource, the Manager, Facilities & Engineering I ensures high ‑ quality, efficient, and sustainable facility operations aligned with the organization's mission, values, and standards of behavior.
Work Schedule:
This role has responsibility for a department that supports 24/7 operations; however, standard hours are Monday - Friday daytime hours.Required Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Construction Management, or related technical field OR equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 5 years' experience in facility operations, facility systems, utilities, maintenance, and/or construction. Prior supervisory experience required. Valid driver's license. Ability to oversee, troubleshoot, and prioritize maintenance and operations activities. Strong communication, leadership, budgeting, problem ‑ solving, and decision ‑ making skills. Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and competing priorities. Ability to establish effective working relationships across organizational levels.Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field. Supervisory experience in healthcare or complex building environments. Experience with building automation systems (BAS) and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). Experience leading multi ‑ site operations or large campuses. Certifications such asCHFM, CLSS
‑ HC, NEHA, or related facilities credentials. Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, structural, and building systems. Knowledge of Joint Commission, CMS, OSHA, NFPA, and local/state codes.Benefits:
