A Facilities Manager manages the facilities of a company or organization, including buildings and grounds, equipment, supplies and staff. Oversees maintenance and security of facilities; oversees renovation projects and monitors work to improve energy efficiency, productivity or employee safety. May work in manufacturing and production, or manage hotels, small apartment buildings, trailer parks or recreational facilities.
The Oshkosh Area Humane Society is looking for a dependable, hands-on Facilities Manager to help keep our shelter building and grounds safe, functional and well maintained. This is a great role for someone who enjoys fixing things, solving problems and working independently. The ideal candidate is practical, reliable and comfortable handling a wide variety of day-to-day maintenance needs in a busy animal shelter environment. What You'll Do Perform routine building maintenance and repairs, including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, hardware and general upkeep. Identify facility issues and take care of smaller repairs before they become bigger problems. Coordinate outside contractors and vendors when specialized work is needed. Maintain tools, equipment and maintenance supplies. Help oversee seasonal needs such as snow removal and grounds maintenance. Oversee the shelter's building security systems, including cameras and electronic access. Manage staff access fobs, including issuing, activating and deactivating access as needed. Coordinate repairs or vendor support for security equipment. Provide day-to-day oversight and direction to the shelter's cleaning team. Help maintain cleaning schedules, supplies and sanitation standards. Coordinate and supervise individuals participating in the shelter's work release or community service program. Assign appropriate work, track hours and ensure participants follow shelter safety and conduct expectations. Help identify safety concerns and keep the facility safe for staff, volunteers, visitors and animals. Assist with special projects and other facility needs that come up in the daily operation of the shelter. What We're Looking For Experience with general maintenance, facilities, construction, property management or similar hands-on work. Comfortable completing a variety of basic repairs independently. Good judgment about when a project requires a licensed or specialized contractor. Dependable, organized and able to work with minimal supervision. Comfortable providing direction to cleaning staff and work release participants. Basic comfort with security cameras, electronic access systems and technology. Comfortable working around dogs, cats and other animals. Valid driver's license. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work that may include bending, climbing ladders and working indoors and outdoors. No degree or formal facilities-management certification is required. We are looking for someone with practical experience, good judgment and a willingness to jump in and get things done.
Pay:
From $20.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 25.0 per week
