Job Description
Sheboygan Senior Community is looking for a dependable, hands-on Facilities & Environmental Services Technician to join our team. This position plays an important role in keeping our skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility clean, safe, well-maintained, and welcoming for our residents, families, and staff. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a variety of hands-on work and takes pride in seeing the results of their efforts. This position is not responsible for routine resident-room cleaning. Instead, you'll focus on specialized floor and carpet care, minor repairs, painting, facility upkeep, room preparation, event setup, and assisting our Housekeeping team when needed. Responsibilities Floor & Carpet Care Operate industrial floor scrubbers and carpet-cleaning equipment. Perform deep cleaning and routine maintenance of facility floors. Clean carpets using commercial/industrial equipment. Maintain clean and presentable hallways, common areas, and other designated spaces. Properly clean and maintain equipment after use. Minor Repairs & Painting Patch holes and perform minor wall repairs. Prepare walls and surfaces for painting. Paint and touch up resident rooms and other facility areas, particularly following resident move-outs. Identify and report maintenance concerns that require additional expertise. Assist with general facility upkeep and improvement projects. Facility Support Assist Housekeeping staff with moving resident belongings and furniture from room to room. Handle resident belongings carefully and respectfully. Assist with preparing rooms following resident move-outs. Empty facility trash bins at least twice daily and as needed. Move tables, chairs, furniture, and equipment throughout the facility as needed. Events & Special Projects Set up and take down tables, chairs, and equipment for facility events. Assist with preparing spaces for activities, meetings, and special events. Help with seasonal projects and other facility needs.
