Job Description

Assistant Mechanical & Facilities Supervisor Potomac Eagle Scenic Railroad located in Romney, WV is currently accepting applications for an Assistant Mechanical & Facilities Supervisor responsible for overseeing and delegating mechanical and electrical needs of the railroad. The position includes the following but other requirements may be needed. The position includes the following but other requirements may be needed. Maintenance and repair of all electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, grounds, facilities, diesels, passenger cars, generators, etc. Ordering supplies such as fuel, parts, and other consumables. Dealing with all necessary federal, state, county, corporate paperwork and requirements. Lead and supervise personnel in these related departments and work towards the year-round operations, maintenance, and repair of the above. Responsibilities, Requirements and Skills (some, but not limited to those listed) Interaction with Potomac Eagle's customers requires a great attitude and demeanor. Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal English. Possess strong leadership and project management skills. Ability to simultaneously manage a variety of projects under budgetary and time constraints. Must interact effectively with co-workers, vendors and sub-contractors. Proficient in basic computer skill such as Word, Excel, email, and the Internet. Attention to detail and safety is required. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability is required. Dedicated to getting the job done while meeting standards of quality, safety and customer satisfaction. Prevent breakdown of systems by routinely inspecting and replacing components. Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged units. Test and troubleshoot completed installation. Ability to hold railway conductor and locomotive engineer certification and fulfill needed vacancies on occasion. Follow company safety procedures, use common sense, and maintain an overall level of safety awareness when operating in the work environment. Make effective decisions when in unfamiliar or emergency situations. Provide daily staff supervision, support, and leadership. Perform additional tasks as required
Working Conditions:
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions. High degree of manual dexterity with good hand-eye coordination. Ability to walk on uneven surfaces. Periodic bending, stooping, squatting, and kneeling. Push, pull, lift, and carry up to 25 pounds frequently, up to 50 pounds occasionally, and 100 pounds infrequently Maintain predictable and reliable attendance. Other optional knowledge and experience HVAC and Refrigeration Electrical Knowledge Welding. Railway conductor or engineer.
