As a Sit-Down Forklift Operator, you will be a vital link in the supply chain, responsible for the safe and efficient movement of goods throughout the warehouse. You will operate a sit-down powered industrial truck (PIT) to load and unload trailers, stage materials for production, and organize inventory. This role requires a "safety-first" mindset, high attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Responsibilities:
Equipment Operation:

Safely operate a sit-down counterbalance forklift to transport palletized materials, steel crates, or bulk goods.

Loading & Unloading:

Efficiently load and unload outbound and inbound freight from trucks and shipping containers.

Inventory Management:

Utilize RF scanners and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to track movement, perform cycle counts, and ensure stock accuracy.

Staging & Put-away:

Retrieve products from racking systems and stage them in designated areas for shipping or assembly lines.

Safety Inspections:

Conduct daily pre-shift equipment inspections (checking fluids, brakes, and hydraulics) and report any mechanical issues immediately.

Warehouse Support:

Assist with manual labor tasks such as shrink-wrapping pallets, hand-stacking boxes, and maintaining a clean, debris-free workspace ...

6:00 AM - 3:00

PM Skills:
Experience:

Minimum of 6-12 months of verifiable experience operating a sit-down forklift.

Certification:

Must possess or be able to obtain an OSHA-compliant forklift operator certification (Spherion often provides or facilitates this training).

Physical Ability:

Capability to lift up to 50 lbs and sit or stand for extended periods (often 8-12 hour shifts).

Compliance:

Ability to pass a background check and drug screen per client requirements.

Technical Literacy:

Ability to read manifests, follow written instructions, and use basic digital scanning equipment.

Education:

Experience with additional equipment such as stand-up reach trucks, cherry pickers, or electric pallet jacks.

Industry Knowledge:

Previous experience in a 3PL (third-party logistics), automotive manufacturing, or aerospace warehouse environment.

WMS Proficiency:

Familiarity with inventory software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or specialized WMS platforms).
