Job Description
Job Overview We're seeking a reliable and safety-focused Forklift Operator to join our log yard team at Southern Fabrication & Welding. In this hands-on role, you'll play a key part in our efficient operations by maintaining smooth shipping and receiving operations while ensuring safety and accuracy in all tasks. Duties Operate various types of heavy equipment including forklifts, clamp trucks, order pickers, and pallet jacks to load and unload materials Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure mechanical safety and proper functioning Follow OSHA guidelines and safety procedures at all times to prevent accidents or injuries Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to coordinate material flow and optimize storage solutions Perform basic maintenance on equipment when necessary and report any malfunctions promptly Qualifications Proven experience operating forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, or other heavy equipment in a warehouse or construction setting Strong knowledge of warehouse distribution processes, shipping & receiving procedures, and materials handling techniques Valid certification for forklift operation; additional certifications such as crane or clamp truck operation are a plus Warehouse or construction experience is highly desirable for this role This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where safety, efficiency, and teamwork are prioritized.
