Position OverviewWe are seeking a reliable Forklift Operator to safely and efficiently move, load, and unload materials within our heavy industrial and steel facility. The role supports production, shipping, and inventory control by operating powered industrial trucks, following safety and quality standards, and coordinating with team members to meet operational targets.

Key ResponsibilitiesSafely operate sit-down, stand-up, and reach forklifts to move raw materials, finished goods, and steel products within the yard and warehouseLoad and unload trucks, rail cars, and containers; secure loads to prevent damage during transportInspect equipment before use, perform basic daily maintenance, and report mechanical issues to maintenance staffFollow all site safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirementsAccurately pick, stage, and place materials according to work orders, load plans, and production schedulesMaintain inventory records, complete required paperwork and digital logs for shipments and receiptsAssist with housekeeping duties to keep aisles, loading docks, and work areas clear and organizedCommunicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and logistics personnel to coordinate material flow and resolve issuesQualificationsValid forklift operator certification/licence and proven experience operating forklifts in a production or warehouse environmentExperience working in steel, heavy industrial, or fabrication facilities preferredMinimum 1-2 years of forklift experience in an industrial setting; heavy load handling experience a plusWorking knowledge of material handling best practices, load securement, and basic maintenance checksAble to read work orders, perform basic math, and follow written and verbal instructions accuratelyPhysically fit and able to stand, climb, lift up to company weight limits, and work in varied indoor/outdoor conditions, including around noise and heatStrong focus on safety, attention to detail, and ability to work reliably on rotating shifts or overtime as neededGood communication skills, teamwork mindset, and a commitment to meeting productivity and quality standardsBenefits401k matchGreat Medical / Dental Insurance
