- Job Title: Sit-Down Forklift Operator
- Job Description
- This role involves operating a propane or diesel sit-down forklift in an outdoor concrete yard to safely load and move heavy pallets onto trucks. The position combines skilled forklift operation with general labor tasks and a portion of customer service and basic computer work.
- Responsibilities
- + Operate a propane or diesel sit-down forklift to move and stack pallets in a concrete yard environment.
+ Load pallets onto trucks, typically stacking two pallets at a time with a combined weight of approximately 5,000 pounds.
+ Perform material handling tasks, including loading and unloading pallets and other materials as required.
+ Work safely and efficiently in an outdoor yard, maintaining awareness of surroundings and following all safety procedures.
+ Complete general labor tasks associated with concrete yard operations as needed.
+ Handle customer-facing interactions in a professional and courteous manner, providing customer service support on site.
+ Perform basic computer work related to customer service, documentation, or order processing for approximately 25-35% of daily duties.
+ Inspect forklift and equipment before use and report any issues or safety concerns promptly.
+ Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area in the yard and loading zones.
- Essential Skills
- + Considerable experience operating a sit-down forklift in an outdoor environment.
+ Proficiency operating propane and diesel sit-down forklifts.
+ Strong material handling skills, including safe loading and unloading of heavy pallets.
+ Ability to work effectively in a concrete yard setting and handle general and skilled labor tasks.
+ Customer service orientation with the ability to interact professionally with customers.
+ Basic computer skills to perform customer service and documentation tasks for approximately 25-35% of the role.
+ Ability to follow safety guidelines and operate heavy equipment with a strong focus on risk prevention.

- Pay and Benefits
- The pay range for this position is $21.
00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
