Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Lead Forklift Operator to oversee and assist with daily forklift operations involving the unloading and movement of medical waste and related materials. This position is a working lead role and requires someone who is comfortable operating a forklift while also providing direction and support to a team. The ideal candidate will have previous forklift experience, experience leading or supervising a group of employees, and a strong commitment to workplace safety. Key Responsibilities Lead and provide daily direction to a team of forklift operators and/or laborers. Safely operate a forklift to unload trucks containing medical waste and other materials. Coordinate unloading activities to maintain a safe and efficient workflow. Ensure materials are moved, staged, and placed in designated areas. Monitor team members to ensure proper safety procedures and work practices are followed. Conduct basic pre-shift inspections of forklifts and report any equipment issues or safety concerns. Communicate with supervisors regarding daily operations, staffing needs, delays, or safety concerns. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Follow all company safety policies and site-specific procedures. Assist with other operational duties as needed. Qualifications Previous forklift operating experience required. Previous experience leading, supervising, or directing a team required. Ability to safely operate a forklift in an industrial environment. Strong leadership and communication skills. Ability to work around medical waste and follow required safety procedures. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities. Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively as part of a team. Ability to perform physical tasks associated with the position.
