Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic warehouse team as an Order Picker/Forklift Operator and become a vital part of our fast-paced operation! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for accurately selecting the correct building materials for lumber packs, packing, and preparing orders for shipment while efficiently operating heavy equipment such as reach trucks, forklifts, and pallet jacks. Duties Safely operate heavy equipment including reach trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to load, unload, stock, and move products within the warehouse. Utilize tablets to accurately pick and pack orders according to specifications. Conduct manual handling tasks such as lifting heavy items safely while adhering to safety protocol guidelines. Manage inventory using warehouse management systems (WMS) to track stock levels, perform stock replenishment, and support inventory accuracy. Assist in shipping and receiving activities by verifying shipments, inspecting goods for quality control, and ensuring proper documentation. Support warehouse operations unloading deliveries, wrapping lumber, organizing materials efficiently, and maintaining a clean workspace. Follow all safety procedures and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times during heavy equipment operation or manual handling tasks. Qualifications Proven experience operating warehouse equipment such as reach trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery. Familiarity with warehouse management systems, and inventory management systems. Strong understanding of order picking & packing processes along with shipping & receiving procedures. Know different grades of lumber Ability to read and write in the English language. Ability to perform basic math calculations necessary for inventory counts and order fulfillment accuracy. Excellent manual handling skills with the ability to lift heavy loads safely; experience with heavy lifting is preferred. Knowledge of safety protocols related to warehouse operations and heavy equipment operation; certification in forklift or reach truck operation is highly desirable. Mechanical aptitude or knowledge of mechanical systems is a plus for troubleshooting equipment issues. Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions. Bushnell Truss is a Drug-Free workplace.
