Job Title:
Forklift Operator Job Description The Forklift Operator safely operates large forklifts throughout the entire shift to move heavy containers weighing between 3,000 and 5,000 pounds across an outdoor construction-type site. This role requires consistent attention to safety, careful maneuvering of equipment, and reliable performance in a non-climate-controlled environment. Responsibilities Operate large forklifts for the full shift to move heavy containers weighing 3,000-5,000 pounds safely and efficiently. Transport large equipment and products across an outdoor construction-type site while maintaining control and stability of the load. Perform careful maneuvering in tight or busy areas to prevent damage to equipment, products, and surrounding structures. Follow all site safety procedures and guidelines to ensure safe operation of forklifts and protection of coworkers. Inspect the forklift before use and report any issues or concerns with equipment to the appropriate personnel. Position and stack containers and materials in designated areas to support smooth site operations. Work collaboratively with site personnel to coordinate movements and ensure timely completion of material handling tasks. Maintain a clean and organized work area around loading, unloading, and storage zones. Essential Skills Proven experience operating large forklifts in an industrial, construction, or similar environment. Demonstrated ability to move large equipment and products safely using a forklift. Capability to handle loads weighing between 3,000 and 5,000 pounds with precision and control. Strong awareness of safety procedures related to forklift operation and material handling. Ability to work outdoors in a non-climate-controlled environment and remain productive in varying weather conditions. Reliability to work a consistent first-shift schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Additional Skills & Qualifications Prior experience working on construction-type sites or outdoor industrial environments. Comfort working around heavy equipment and large containers in active work zones. Strong communication skills to coordinate movements with other team members. You will operate large forklifts throughout the first shift, working from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The setting involves heavy equipment, large containers, and active work zones, requiring consistent adherence to safety practices and appropriate work attire suitable for an industrial outdoor environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hawthorne, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
