Job Title:
Forklift Operator Job Description This role focuses on supporting warehouse operations by scanning, organizing, and moving parts using both manual material handling and forklift equipment. You will help ensure accurate storage, staging, and movement of products for shipping and receiving in a clean, temperature-controlled facility. Responsibilities Operate a forklift to move, pull, and transport parts safely within the facility once trained and certified on-site. Scan parts accurately and place them on shelves from carts, ensuring correct locations and inventory accuracy. Stage products and parts for shipping and receiving, preparing them for outbound shipments and inbound processing. Handle materials manually as needed, including loading, unloading, and organizing products in designated areas. Assist with pulling products and parts from inventory to fulfill orders and internal requests. Support general warehouse tasks that do not require a forklift license, as directed by supervision. Follow all safety procedures and equipment guidelines while operating forklifts and handling materials. Maintain a clean and orderly work area, helping keep the facility organized and free of hazards. Essential Skills High school diploma or GED. Ability to learn and safely operate a forklift after completing an on-site forklift class. Basic experience or familiarity with material handling, shipping, and receiving activities. Ability to scan parts and follow inventory procedures accurately. Capability to lift, move, and handle products safely as part of daily tasks. Attention to detail when staging, shelving, and pulling products. Reliability to work 2nd shift hours and occasional Saturday shifts as scheduled. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous forklift experience is a plus, but not required. Prior experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse environments is beneficial. Comfort using scanners or basic warehouse technology. Strong organizational skills and the ability to follow established processes. Why Work Here? Work Environment The position is based in a very nice, clean, temperature-controlled, and quiet facility designed to support focused and efficient work. You will work primarily on 2nd shift, Monday through Friday from 3:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., with additional Saturday hours from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The environment involves regular use of forklifts, carts, shelving, and scanning equipment, with an emphasis on organization, safety, and maintaining a tidy workspace. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out ofLOVES PARK, IL.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
