Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Forklift Operator/Material Handler to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing the movement, storage, and distribution of materials within our facility. Your expertise in operating various heavy equipment, including forklifts and reach trucks, will ensure smooth shipping, receiving, and inventory management processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced environment where safety, accuracy, and teamwork are paramount. Responsibilities Safely operate a variety of warehouse equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo lifts, pallet jacks, and order pickers to load and unload materials. Manage inventory by accurately picking orders using warehouse management systems (WMS) and ensuring proper storage of goods. Assist with shipping and receiving tasks by verifying inbound and outbound shipments, inspecting goods for damage, and recording transactions in the warehouse management system. Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform basic mechanical repairs or notify maintenance for repairs to ensure optimal operation of heavy machinery. Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing materials for efficient storage and retrieval while adhering to OSHA safety standards. Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow, improve materials handling processes, and maintain a safe working environment. Perform heavy lifting tasks safely while following proper techniques for load stability and safety protocols. Skills Proven experience operating forklifts, reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo lifts, pallet jacks, and order pickers in a warehouse setting. Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control procedures. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic equipment repairs or troubleshoot operational issues. Familiarity with OSHA safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and materials handling. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in order picking and shipping/receiving documentation. Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for inventory counts and measurements. Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors in a fast-paced environment.
