Job Title Sew On Lift Truck Operator | Monday - Friday Position Overview This position is Monday- Friday 3pm-11pm.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
(CONSIDERING
JOB KNOWLEDGE, JOB ENVIRONMENT, EFFORT, MANIPULATIVE SKILL, JUDGEMENT, SAFETY KNOWLEDGE AND RESPONSIBILITY
): I. Supplying Floats/Rolls to the Sew-On. A. Obtain a list of Floats/Rolls to be coated from Sew-On Ticket Clerk. B. If a Float/Roll is not in the proper location and not in the surrounding area the Coater Supervisor should be notified. C. Transport the Float/Roll to the Coater Staging area (Line up floats in appropriate coating sequence). D. Remove empty floats from Coater Sew-On area side. E. Replace empty floats with the next Float/Roll in the Coating sequence. Align Float/Roll under the Pull Roller at the Coater Sew-On. F. Assist Sew-On Operator in preparing Carpet to be Sewn-On. 1. If the carpet is in a float pull the end of the top roll over the side of the float. 2. If the carpet is in a roll pull the carpet off the roll. G. Inspect the carpet and make sure it has been dried. H. Assist the Sew-On Operator in aligning the carpet properly on the table at the sewing machine. Care should be taken to create as little seam as possible. I. Assist Sew-On Operator in measuring the width of the carpet when instructed by the Sew-On Ticket Clerk. J. When running carpet of roll(s) determine the condition of the core place it in the designated area. K. Transport empty floats to the warehouse and place in the Coral by the Multi-Tech. Pick up and transport the next float on list. II. Operating Lift Trucks A. All Lift Truck Operators must complete the Lift Truck Training Course, and possess a valid Lift Truck Drivers License. B. Perform Daily Lift Truck Service Checks. C. Always ask the previous driver of the General Condition of the Lift Truck when starting your shift. D. Check gas bottle or battery at the beginning of each shift. If they are low, change them at the earliest opportunity. E. When driving and electric truck, drive it to the battery charging area where the Lift Truck Mechanic will change the battery.
