Job Title:
Forklift Operator
  • $17/HR 11:30 AM
  • 7:30 PM//1 PM
  • 9 PM Job Description This role supports a high-volume container management and racking warehouse that handles racks and plastic totes used for parts storage.
You will operate a sit-down forklift, move and stage containers, and assist with washing, sorting, and minor repair of plastic containers and totes. The position involves standing for most of the shift, working in process lanes, and ensuring containers are correctly processed, scanned, and shipped. Responsibilities Operate a sit-down forklift safely for the majority of the shift to move, load, and unload containers, racks, and totes. Load and unload trucks, following paperwork and shipping documentation to ensure the correct containers are shipped and received. Drive the forklift forward and backward through designated paths and operate forks to lift, move, and set down pallets accurately. Work in process lanes on the inbound floor to remove manufacturer tags from containers and racks. Use a hand scanner to process and track incoming totes and racks, ensuring accurate scanning and staging. Support tote washing operations by loading, unloading, sorting, staging, and scanning plastic totes at the washing machine. Stand for the entire shift while performing washing, sorting, and scanning tasks, with regular scheduled breaks. Assist in the repair area by working on large plastic containers ranging from approximately 2x2 to 8x8 in size Essential Skills At least 6 months of recent labor or forklift experience. Demonstrated ability to operate a sit-down forklift safely and efficiently. Ability to pass a forklift skills test, including driving forward and backward through cones and lifting, raising, and setting down a pallet accurately. Experience with material handling, including loading and unloading trucks. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely and repeatedly as needed. Capability to work up to 10 hours of overtime when required. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in container management, warehouse, or racking systems is beneficial. Experience with general labor tasks such as sorting, staging, and basic equipment cleaning. Familiarity with basic hand tools, including hand drills and screwdrivers, for light repair work.
