• Storage Center Worker (Contract-to-Hire) Job Description This role supports a busy storage and warehouse operation as a versatile utility worker.

You will operate a sit-down forklift, perform general labor tasks, and assist with preparing storage units and products before they are sent to customers. The position follows a daytime schedule with opportunities for overtime and requires a self-motivated individual who is comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in a large warehouse environment. Responsibilities + Operate a sit-down forklift safely and efficiently for approximately 40% of the workday to move, load, and unload materials and storage units. + Perform general labor tasks in the warehouse, including manual lifting, loading, and handling materials as needed. + Assist with general work on storage units before they are sent to customers, ensuring they are prepared, organized, and ready for shipment. + Maintain accurate inventory records by entering and updating information on the computer. + Support overall warehouse operations, including cleaning, organizing, and maintaining a safe and orderly work area. + Work both inside the warehouse and outside as needed to complete assigned tasks. Work Environment The position is based in a large warehouse focused on storage operations. You will work both inside the facility and outside as needed, handling storage units and materials in a production and warehouse setting. The schedule typically runs Monday through Friday from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 or 3:00 p.m., with overtime available, including some Saturdays and extended hours until 3:00 or 4:00 p.m. as required. You will regularly operate a sit-down forklift, perform manual lifting and loading, and use basic tools such as tape measures and warehouse equipment. The environment is active and physically demanding, with a focus on safety, cleanliness, and efficient material handling. Work attire should be appropriate for a warehouse and outdoor setting, supporting safe and comfortable movement throughout the shift. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bolingbrook, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00
