Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Forklift Operator to join our dynamic logistics team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing the movement of goods within our warehouse, ensuring accurate shipping and receiving processes, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Your expertise in forklift operation, inventory management, and warehouse operations will help us deliver exceptional service to our customers and support seamless supply chain functions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced distribution center where teamwork, safety, and precision are paramount. Responsibilities Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and other warehouse equipment to load, unload, move, and organize inventory. Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders using data entry systems such as Warehouse Management System (WMS) or ERP platforms like AS400 and MRP. Accurately pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment while ensuring compliance with trade regulations and shipping logistics standards. Maintain detailed records of inventory transactions, shipment statuses, and inbound/outbound logs using inventory management software. Collaborate with warehouse staff to stock shelves efficiently, perform order picking, and ensure proper packaging for outbound shipments. Conduct routine inspections of equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts to ensure safety standards are met; report any maintenance needs promptly. Support warehouse distribution activities by coordinating with logistics teams to optimize shipping schedules and inventory flow. Assist in cycle counts and inventory audits to uphold stock accuracy; utilize Microsoft Office tools for reporting and documentation. Ensure adherence to safety protocols and trade compliance regulations during all warehouse operations. Experience Previous experience working in a warehouse environment with familiarity in warehouse operations, inventory management, or logistics is highly preferred. Proven ability to operate forklifts safely; certification is a plus but not mandatory if willing to obtain training. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems like AS400 or MRP software is advantageous. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in order fulfillment, stock management, and data entry tasks. Basic math skills necessary for inventory counting, measurements, and calculations related to shipping weights or quantities. Excellent communication skills with a customer service-oriented approach when interacting with team members or external partners. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards and accuracy throughout all tasks.
