Forklift Operator- (We'll Train You!)

What You'll Do

As a Forklift Operator 1, you'll help keep our facility running safely and efficiently by: Safely operating forklifts and other powered industrial equipment to transport raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods.

Loading and unloading trucks, trailers, and storage areas.

Staging materials accurately to support production schedules and shipping requirements.

Verifying materials, quantities, and documentation for accuracy and quality.

Inspecting loads and reporting damaged or non-conforming materials.

Completing daily forklift inspections and reporting mechanical or safety concerns.

Following OSHA regulations, safety guidelines, and company policies for powered industrial equipment.

Maintaining accurate inventory movement records and documentation.

Communicating effectively with supervisors, production teams, and Shipping/Receiving staff.

Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Assisting with other duties and special projects as assigned. What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who: Has a high school diploma or GED preferred.

Can obtain and maintain forklift certification.

Takes safety seriously and pays close attention to detail.

Can read and follow work instructions, safety procedures, and shipping documents.

Has basic math and record-keeping skills.

Can work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Is dependable, safety-minded, and committed to handling materials accurately and efficiently. Bonus Points If You Have Previous forklift operation experience.

Experience operating forklifts in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.

Familiarity with shipping, receiving, inventory, or material-handling processes.

Experience working around production equipment and fast-paced manufacturing operations. Physical & Work Environment

This is an active, hands-on manufacturing role that includes: Sitting, standing, bending, and twisting for extended periods.

Lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Operating powered equipment for extended periods.

Using visual and depth perception skills for safe forklift operation.

Working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment around moving equipment, noise, and varying temperatures.

Constant use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required due to the nature of the work environment. Why Join Sheridan?
