The Forklift Operator/Delivery Driver is responsible for safely operating material-handling equipment and company vehicles to transport, store, and deliver materials and products. This role includes loading and unloading shipments, performing equipment and vehicle inspections, maintaining accurate records, and coordinating with the warehouse and shipping teams to ensure timely, efficient operations. Duties include, but are not limited to: Equipment Operation and Maintenance Safely and efficiently operate material-handling equipment. Perform daily forklift inspections, which include checking for routine gas, oil, and lubrication needs. Report all mechanical or safety issues to the supervisor. Fuel the forklift and charge the battery as required. Complete the Forklift Daily Inspection Form before operation; tag equipment as "out of service" if unsafe. Warehouse Organization and Inventory Management Maintain a clean and organized warehouse to ensure a safe working environment. Assist warehouse and production supervisors with inventory control by recording location, quantity, condition, shipping, and receiving requirements. Use the handheld scanner to enter product quantities into inventory. Remove pallets of finished products and place them in the designated stock area. Collect and properly dispose of cardboard, strapping, and other materials. Raw Material Handling and Production Support Retrieve and distribute raw materials to production lines using a roll truck. Coordinate with the production team on the type of rolls needed for production. Ensure raw materials are correctly stored in designated, secure locations. Verify shipment details and expedite orders that impact production schedules. Shipping and Receiving Load and unload trucks accurately and safely. Coordinate with the warehouse shipping/receiving office team on daily shipping plans. Review shipping orders to pull efficiently and stage products promptly. Use a handheld scanner to select, verify, and clear orders from the system. Label pallets, wrap orders, and stage them for final verification by Quality Assurance. Communicate with truck drivers to ensure accurate loading/unloading of products. Problem-Solving and Communication Identify and report potential issues to the shipping team or management. Work with production team members to resolve material flow or inventory concerns. Communicate effectively with other forklift drivers to coordinate order pulling and staging. Resolve issues with contractors or vendors when problems arise. Delivery Driver Responsibilities Safely operate company vehicles to deliver products to designated locations. Load, transport, and unload items with care. Verify delivery information, including addresses, contact details, and delivery instructions. Ensure orders are complete, accurate, and in good condition. Obtain customer signatures or delivery confirmations as required. Provide professional and courteous customer service. Follow assigned routes and schedules. Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation. Perform basic vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs or safety concerns. Comply with all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies. Additional Responsibilities Maintain a safe and clean work environment at all times. Perform other related duties as assigned. A high school diploma or equivalent. One year of forklift-driving experience. Must hold a current and valid Louisiana Class D Chauffeur's License Knowledgeable of warehouse storage, shipping, and receiving requirements. Satisfactorily pass the forklift driving training program or demonstrate safe handling of forklifts in an on-site test with an experienced forklift operator. Must be able to move and manually lift 50-60 pounds.
