Wilmington Paper is seeking a full-time Forklift Operator to join our growing facility in West Monroe, LA. The Forklift Operator will be responsible for operating a forklift or skid steer in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining the production floor to maximize safe production. This position will support equipment operations during a work shift and you must be able to work rotating 8-hour shifts, with occasional extended or weekend hours
REQUIRED.
(Shift times are 6 am to 2 pm, 2pm to 10 pm & 10 pm to 6 am). Shifts rotate every two weeks. How you will make an impact:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. This position will be responsible for, but not limited to the following duties:

Perform pre and post trip inspections of equipmentSafely Load/unload material from trailersEnsure correct quality of material that is handledEnsure accuracy and recording of weightsImplementing all plant safety procedures (e.g. use gladhand locks when entering trailers)General plant housekeepingReport equipment issues to supervisor/maintenance staffWhat you need to succeed:

High School Diploma or GED OR equivalent required2+ years experience operating a skid steer and/or forklift, preferably in an industrial or Recycling facilityExperience working in a fast-paced environmentA valid drivers license preferred.
Required Skills & Competencies:
The ideal candidate will have skills and experience in the following areas:

Good customer service skills to meet and exceed customer expectationsEnsure that customers and employees conduct all business in a safe manner and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)Acts in a professional, courteous, and cooperative manner toward customers and co-workersWorks with a sense of honesty and trustworthinessGood time management skills to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed in an efficient and safe mannerAbility to adhere to work schedule and follows through on challenges as they ariseAbility to adhere to Company policies and rulesPromotes and upholds the Companys safety standardsAbility to operate equipment properly and safely.

Strict adherence to OSHA and company policies.

Ability to demonstrate proficient operation of forklift and skid steer at the time of interviewAbility to sit for extended periods of timeAbility to lift up to 50 lbs.
