Job Description

Description Weyerhaeuser is seeking individuals who are committed to safety, have a positive attitude, excellent work ethic and a desire to work in a manufacturing facility. Weyerhaeuser's Zwolle Wood Products is currently looking to fill several Forklift Operator position at our Zwolle, LA. EWP facility. Our manufacturing facilities are highly automated and utilize many leading-edge technologies in the wood products industry. The pay rate for this role is $22.33 per hour.
Key Functions:
Safely operate and maintain propane forklifts to move veneer/plywood products from operating equipment to staging and/or cut stations Demonstrate safety as a core value and intervene in any unsafe practices. Able to develop in depth knowledge of managing a veneer warehouse and sorting product according to grades to include applying proper tagging/markings Operate forklift in an efficient manner to ensure production lines can continue to operate Be highly attentive and adaptive to workflows Commit to quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement Ability to handle wood products such as 4x4s and climb into/out of the forklift throughout the shift Perform daily forklift inspection checklists/service fluids as needed Ability to work in the heat/cold environments Qualifications High School diploma or GED. Knowledge of panels grades, stamps and flows to maintain the flow and organization of panels through the various processes Ability to operate, service and maintain equipment; included but not limited to a forklift. Ability to work with little direct supervision and be self-motivated. Ability to work closely with others; be a team player/leader; demonstrate good communication skills, and a positive attitude. Knowledge and willingness to use safety standards of forklift operation, use lockout procedures and wear necessary PPE. Ability to maintain a clean workstation, and exhibit good performance, safety and attendance records. Interpret and complete required paperwork, including but not limited to maintaining neat and accurate preventive maintenance sheets on a daily basis. Self-starter with the ability to work without direct supervision. Knowledge and ability to use Safety Data Sheets (SDS). Show proficiency in Job Safety Analysis (JSA) standards. Willingness to work any shift, work overtime and weekends and rotate between jobs; as well as perform any job as specified by supervisor.
