Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Reach Truck Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team on both 1st and 2nd shifts. In this vital role, you will operate high-reach forklifts and other material handling equipment to efficiently manage inventory, load and unload shipments, and support warehouse distribution operations. Your expertise in warehouse management systems, safety protocols, and equipment handling will ensure smooth, safe, and timely logistics processes. Duties Safely operate reach trucks, cherry pickers, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and Hi-Lo forklifts to move materials within the warehouse. Load and unload shipments accurately using barcode scanning technology for logistics tracking. Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment with precision and efficiency. Conduct routine inspections of equipment to identify maintenance needs or repairs, ensuring adherence to forklift safety protocols. Manage inventory levels using warehouse management systems (WMS), including stock replenishment and cycle counts. Assist with shipping and receiving activities by verifying shipment contents against documentation and ensuring proper storage. Follow OSHA safety standards and warehouse safety procedures during all operations to maintain a safe working environment. Experience Proven experience operating reach trucks or similar heavy equipment in a warehouse or distribution setting. Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and barcode scanning for logistics purposes. Familiarity with materials handling equipment operation such as cherry pickers, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and Hi-Lo forklifts. Understanding of warehouse safety standards including OSHA regulations related to forklift operation and manual handling. Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory management and order picking accuracy. Experience in shipping & receiving processes, heavy lifting, and manual handling tasks in a fast-paced environment. Prior warehouse management or supervisor experience is a plus but not required; a strong understanding of warehouse operations is essential.
