Job Description

Project Service, Inc. (PSI) is currently seeking applicants for a Full Time Forklift/On-Site Truck Operator in the Escanaba, MI area. Starting pay $21.50/hour . Full time benefits include health/dental/vision insurance, 401K and paid holidays/vacation. Must pass background check and drug test. 10hr rotating day shift schedule.
Job Summary:
Employees will operate forklift and transfer trucks to distribute on site paper refuse containers to various mill locations. Employees will empty containers using forklifts and transfer equipment. The contents will be taken to a central collection site, then transferred by truck to the on-site landfill.
Job Responsibilities/Functions:
v Work in a paper manufacturing facility/environment. v Transport and empty containers/dumpsters v Transport paper refuse/garbage to landfill v Operation of various equipment types; cardboard compactor, delivery trucks, pallet jacks, forklift v Computer usage and knowledge, email etc. v Communicate by radio and cell phone v Maintain safe and clean work area/loading docks v Inspecting and maintain equipment before and after use v Load and transport recyclables to recycling areas
Physical Requirements:
v Ability to lift at least 35 lbs. to 100 lbs. v Ability to operate forklifts and other moving vehicles or equipment safely v Able to work in extreme weather(hot and cold), high heat, high humidity and dusty environments v Ability to work safely v Ability to climb ladders and stairs v Ability to work overhead v Full physical mobility regarding physically reaching, stretching, kneeling, bending, , walking, twisting, hearing and vision see. v Ability to work independently
Requirements:
v High school diploma or GED v Must pass testing to hold certificates and operate forklifts and other moving vehicles or equipment safely in an industrial setting within high equipment and pedestrian traffic areas. v Employee must demonstrate a strong work ethic, be dependable and flexible on and off all shifts. v Must have the ability to read, comprehend all written instruction and labeling/signage associated with job v Self motivated and be able to work with minimal supervision v Must have strong communication and organizational skills and demonstrates such v Must pass the drug tests v Pass the criminal background check v Must abide by Project Service Inc. Company and Employee Policy Manual v Follow safety and site procedures of client v Be an "At Will" employee Preferred experience/certifications: Industrial /Commercial work environment experience Truck Driver/Equipment/Machinery operating experience Certifications and licenses desired, 1 year experience preferred.
