Job Description

GFL Environmental is seeking a Recycling Forklift Loader/Operator to safely handle and move recyclable materials at our facility. In this role, you will operate forklifts and loaders to load/unload trucks, feed processing equipment, and stage materials for shipment while following strict safety and environmental standards. You will conduct pre-trip inspections, maintain a clean work area, and accurately follow load tickets and instructions. Working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, you'll support sustainable waste management and have opportunities for training, skill development, and long-term career growth. Responsibilities Operate forklifts and loaders to move, load, and unload recyclable materials Feed recycling and processing equipment safely and efficiently Perform pre- and post-operation inspections on equipment and report issues Follow safety, environmental, and company operating procedures at all times Read and follow load tickets, shipping documents, and supervisor instructions Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area Assist with sorting, staging, and preparing materials for shipment Work collaboratively with team members and communicate hazards or concerns Required Skills Forklift operation Loader operation Material handling Equipment inspection Basic mechanical troubleshooting OSHA safety compliance Palletizing and stacking Inventory tracking Recycling and waste sorting Basic data entry or handheld scanner use
