Forklift Yard Worker/Paint Job Description The role involves the operation of various sit-down forklifts within the yard, receiving new steel for welders, and preparing it for the welding department. This position requires setting up pallets in the yard for the intake area, palletizing finished products for outgoing shipments, and assisting in inventory counts. Candidates should be able to lift up to 70 lbs as they will be moving steel and wood by hand. Additionally, this role includes laying out finished products in the paint area using hand, forklift, or hoist and providing assistance in other areas as needed. Responsibilities Operate a variety of sit-down forklifts in the yard. Receive and prepare new steel for the welding department. Set up pallets in the yard for intake. Palletize finished products for outgoing shipments. Assist in inventory counts. Lift and move steel and wood manually, up to 70 lbs. Lay out finished products in the paint area using hand, forklift, or hoist. Provide assistance in other areas as required. Work Environment The work environment includes both indoor and outdoor settings, particularly in the production area near the paint area. The bay doors frequently open to the outside, and employees will spend most of their time working outdoors. Appropriate attire for the elements is necessary, including steel-toed boots, pants, and preferably a long-sleeve shirt. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Billings, MT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00/hr.
