Description:
Forklift Operator and General Laborer is responsible for operating forklifts in a safe and productive manner in all weather conditions to process customer orders, move inventory and maintain inventory control. Performing housekeeping, organization, minor maintenance, and reporting activities as directed are an essential part of the job.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Safely operate and perform daily inspections of forklifts, front-end loaders, and other yard equipment used for loading, unloading, transporting, stockpiling, staging, and inventory management. Move materials efficiently between processing areas, inventory locations, loading areas, and customer orders; receive deliveries and organize products throughout the yard. Demonstrate knowledge of equipment controls, safety systems, operator inspections, and preventative maintenance procedures. Handle and organize concrete masonry products, including concrete block, brick, pavers, retaining wall products, aggregates, sand, and mulch. Operate tablets, laptops, workstations, and various software platforms to complete daily operational and administrative tasks. Maintain clean, safe, and organized product inventory, flatbed loading, material processing, and equipment areas. Conduct equipment inspections and basic maintenance in accordance with company policies, safety standards, and applicable regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate records, including customer orders, inventory sheets, non-conformance reports, inspection logs, time sheets, and maintenance documentation. Apply effective inventory management practices, including product storage, stock rotation, staging, and overall yard organization. Follow proper forklift and material-handling techniques in manufacturing, warehouse, and outdoor yard environments. Perform preventative maintenance and housekeeping for production equipment, machinery, and yard facilities. Follow workplace safety procedures, including hazard recognition, lockout/tagout awareness, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Read and interpret production schedules, work orders, inventory documents, and basic operational reports. Communicate effectively and coordinate material movement with production, warehouse, delivery, and other team members. Apply problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and efficient work practices to support safe and productive manufacturing operations.

Minimum Requirements:
Valid NC Driver License, clean driving record, and/or reliable transportation to work. Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Strong work ethic with the ability to follow directions and complete tasks with minimal supervision. Good communication skills and teamwork mindset. Willingness to learn and a positive attitude Ability to follow directions and safety guidelines Able to perform light physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, and lifting light items (within appropriate limits) Comfortable working outdoors for short periods under supervision Reliable and punctual
