Job Description

Description We have one opening as a Production & Material Handler II on Night Shift. The Primary functions are to safely operate forklift in the performance of assigned warehousing duties.
Qualifications include:
High school plus additional training preferred. Math skills include addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and fractions. Ability to speak, read and write in English needed for job tasks. Certified forklift operator. Duties and Responsibilities Essential Functions Operates forklift to safely load and unload containers at the production warehouse. Must always operate forklift at a reasonable and prudent speed, watching closely for pedestrians or other motorized vehicles. Counts and reports to Supervisor the finished goods packed on the previous shifts. Receives instructions from Supervisor with regard to designated warehouse where goods should be shipped. Stages finished goods for loading. Operates forklift to load finished goods onto truck. Completes pre-operational checklist each day before operating lift. Reports all forklift damage or malfunctions to supervisor. Maintains and reports accurately data for all merchandise movement. Restack damaged pallets of finish goods. Must use scan gun to scan packaging materials, spices and finished good in and out of inventory. Must use scan gun to cycle count inventory. Must use scan gun and materials schedule to stage materials needed for production. Responsible for warehouse sanitation which includes but is not limited to cleaning floors, trailers, debris around loading docks and the exterior areas of the warehouse. Follows safety rules and company policies. Must have a valid NC driver's license and good driving record. Other Duties Participates in training, employee meetings, committees, project teams, and must attend weekly safety meetings. Receives written or verbal instructions from supervisor on above tasks and performs other work as directed by supervisor. Mt. Physical Demands Climbing:
Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. This factor is important if the amount and kind of climbing required exceeds that required for ordinary motion.
Reaching:
Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
Walking:
Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
Lifting:
Raising objects from a lower to a high position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.
Talking:
Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
Hearing:
Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make fine discriminations in sound.
Medium Work:
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The worker is required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles. The worker is required to have eye/hand/foot coordination to operate forklift. Mental Effort Above average concentration/intensity. Above average memory. Above average physical and mental reaction time for safety considerations and reaction time. Work Environment Works inside warehouse, subject to significant seasonal temperature variations and forklift fumes. Some contact with dust, oil, ink, and grease. Steel-toed shoes required.
