JOB SUMMARY

American Gypsum in Bernalillo, NM is looking to hire a Truck Loader. Truck Loaders are responsible for loading the proper product and piece count on the trucks and railcar in a safe manner. Safety and quality should always be part of the daily operation, to provide a safe workplace and to load the highest quality product possible.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Education requirement: High School Diploma or GED Must be able to lift/ move up to 25 lbs. frequently, up to 51 lbs. occasionally, and 51+lbs rarely. Must be able to work at elevated heights while working on top of a railcar. Must be able to perform basic math and read/ apply metrics. Forklift experience is preferred.

PRIMARY DUTIES

SAFETY:

This operations position is a safety-sensitive position due to routine close proximity to moving and automatic equipment as well as mobile equipment. Operate in a safe manner, following all plant and departmental safety rules and procedures. Know fall protection requirements. Know requirements for safe operation of lift-trucks. Know the Warehouse Safety Program. Maintain housekeeping in the Rail area. Pickup slueters from the floor. Clean up fluid leaks with absorbent material. Other assignments as directed by supervision. Be familiar with the MSDS for propane. Know the location of storm shelters and exits. Know lockout tagout on the Auto Wraptor.

QUALITY:

Adhere to all quality-related procedures. Proper Slueter placement. Place culled board in proper location. Know product location in the warehouse. Know how to properly stack board.

OPERATIONS

Know the proper safety procedures in the shrink-wrap area. Know how to use shrink gun properly. Know how to operate locomotive. Know how to use air nail gun properly. Know how to use hand tools properly. Know the proper tie down procedures. Know how to use fall protection. Knowledge of prep work. Knowledge of auto wraptor. Other assignments as directed by supervision. Rail car switching.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

Must be flexible with job duties; may be required to fill in on other jobs or in other departments when the business or organization is short-handed. Other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS

Typically, well-lighted. Must be able to work in extreme weather and temperature changes. Attention level requirements are high, driving and working around forklifts in high-traffic areas. Slippery floor conditions may exist in inclement weather. Moderate noise levels require hearing protection. Air quality is good.
