Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Forklift Operator/Material Handler to join our warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts to move materials and products throughout the facility, ensuring that all transactions are conducted in a safe and efficient manner. This role involves both sit-down and stand-up forklift operation and requires attention to detail, scanning products and commitment to safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Forklift Operation:
Operate sit-down and/or stand-up forklifts to transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
Loading and Unloading:
Load and unload materials from trucks and pallets, ensuring that goods are handled safely and stored properly.
Inventory Management:
Assist with tracking inventory levels and reporting discrepancies as necessary; ensure that materials are organized and easily accessible.
Quality Control:
Perform regular inspections of incoming and outgoing materials for damage, quality, and correct labeling.
Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies, including operating equipment safely and maintaining a clean work environment.
Documentation:
Complete work tickets, log documents, and maintain accurate records of inventory movement.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with other warehouse staff and departments to coordinate workflow and improve efficiency.
Equipment Maintenance:
Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on forklifts and material handling equipment to ensure optimal functioning.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Forklift Operator or in a Material Handling role is a plus. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions clearly. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs as per company standards). Basic computer skills for inventory management and documentation. Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and reaching. Comfort in operating heavy machinery and working in an outdoor/warehouse environment
