Plant Material Handler (Second Shift)
Shift:
3:00 PM - 11:00
PM Location:
Fairfield, Ohio Position Overview PrideStaff is partnering with a local manufacturing plant to find a dependable, detail-oriented Plant Material Handler for our second shift. You will play a critical role in keeping our facility clean, safe, and fully operational. This position requires strong organizational skills, the ability to operate a forklift, and a sharp eye for quality control. You will work independently to accomplish assigned plant tasks while collaborating closely with the Production Team to ensure materials are handled safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities Logistics & Inventory:
Accurately load finished products onto trailers and unload raw materials. Manage warehouse inventory using equipment and Excel spreadsheets.
Material Transport:
Safely transfer rolls of paper from the warehouse to the production floor.
Quality Assurance:
Monitor raw materials and finished products for defects; utilize equipment to test raw materials and notify the supervisor immediately if issues are detected.
Operational Support:
Establish strong working relationships with the Production Team to meet objectives and production requirements.
Safety & Compliance:
Maintain a clean, hazard-free worksite. Set the standard for safety and quality guidelines and ensure shipping procedures are completed in a timely manner.
General Duties:
Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned by management. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language. Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication). Proven work experience as a Warehouse Clerk or in a similar warehouse role. Demonstrated ability to operate forklifts and other heavy machinery. Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to lift heavy loads (up to 75 lbs) and perform manual transfers. Preferred Qualifications 12 months of previous manufacturing experience. Previous experience with Power Industrial Trucks (PIT). Understanding of inventory management systems. Knowledge of basic safety rules and precautionary measures (safety gear provided). Physical Requirements Ability to work in varying conditions, including heat and cold. Capability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, perform overhead lifting, and engage in common physical movements required for the role. Flexibility to work beyond normal hours, including weekends and holidays, as necessary.
