PrideStaff Position Overview PrideStaff is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Plant Material Handler to join a manufacturing client in Hamilton. This role is essential to maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient production environment. You will be responsible for loading and unloading trailers, managing inventory, and collaborating with the Production Team to ensure materials are moved safely and smoothly. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong organizational skills, forklift proficiency, and a keen eye for quality control.
Key Responsibilities Logistics & Inventory:
Accurately load finished products onto trailers and unload incoming raw materials. Track warehouse inventory using equipment and Excel spreadsheets to ensure shipping procedures are timely and precise.
Material Handling:
Safely transfer rolls of paper from the warehouse to the production floor.
Quality Assurance:
Monitor raw materials and finished products for defects. Utilize equipment to test materials and promptly notify your supervisor if issues arise.
Operational Collaboration:
Build strong working relationships with the Production Team to meet daily objectives and understand production requirements.
Safety & Facility Maintenance:
Maintain a clean, hazard-free worksite, particularly regarding chemicals and fragile products. Serve as an example of company safety and quality guidelines at all times.
Miscellaneous Duties:
Perform additional operational tasks as assigned by management. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English. Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication). Proven work experience as a Warehouse Clerk or in a similar role. Demonstrated ability to operate forklifts and other heavy machinery. Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to lift and carry at least 75 lbs and perform manual load transfers. Preferred Qualifications 12+ months of previous manufacturing experience. Previous experience with Power Industrial Trucks (PIT). Good understanding of inventory management processes. Ability to detect potential problems with raw materials or finished goods. Familiarity with basic safety rules and precautionary measures (safety gear will be provided).
