Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Material Handler Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. This role is essential for efficient materials handling, order fulfillment, and shipping & receiving operations. The ideal candidate will have experience operating heavy equipment, including forklifts and cranes, and possess a strong understanding of warehouse management systems and safety protocols. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where safety, mechanical knowledge, and attention to detail are paramount. Duties Operate forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment to load, unload, and move materials within the warehouse Pick orders accurately using RF scanners and warehouse management systems Assist with shipping & receiving processes, ensuring proper documentation and handling of goods Load and unload trucks efficiently while adhering to safety standards Perform materials handling tasks including stacking, organizing, and storing inventory Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance needs Follow OSHA guidelines and safety procedures during all operations to maintain a safe work environment Support warehouse supervisors with inventory management and other operational tasks as needed Experience Previous warehouse distribution experience preferred Experience operating forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, and order pickers required Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners is highly desirable Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and materials handling Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment maintenance is a plus Experience in shipping & receiving, construction sites, or heavy lifting environments is beneficial Prior warehouse supervisor or leadership experience is advantageous but not mandatory This position requires candidates to demonstrate proficiency in heavy equipment operation, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as heavy lifting. A strong work ethic coupled with mechanical aptitude will ensure success in this role.
