Job Summary:
The shipping and receiving position is responsible for unloading and loading product in an organized and timely fashion in order to execute customer requests. This position will be operated mainly on a tow motor for the shift which requires a high degree of safety. This position will answer to the shipping manager and production manager.
Job Duties:
Loading and unloading trucks. Conduct tow motor inspections before and after shift and report any issues. Putting received materials in correct location. Banding and wrapping skids. Understand bill of materials (BOM) and other paperwork to ensure specifications are being met for loading procedures. Retrieve raw materials for operators. Operate a scan gun to retrieve products and take them to correct spot. Authority to stop and/or modify work processes due to non-conformance and/or unsafe working conditions. Report all potential food safety concerns to the quality assurance manager. Perform all other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
Previous experience with operating a tow motor. Knowledge of HazMat clean up and safety Previous experience in loading and unloading trucks is preferred Time management and problem-solving skills. Must be a team player and possess a "can do" attitude. Ability to lift up to 50-55 lbs. and sit on tow motor for periods of time or walking/standing on concrete. Excellent communication skills with the ability to read, write and communicate fluently in English.
Work Environment:
This position will work in a manufacturing environment where our warehouses are located. This position will primarily use a lift truck to complete the essential job duties and will be exposed to machinery that produce noise.
