Operator, Supervisor Summary:
Forklift Driver duties may include loading and unloading trailers, assisting in production line set-up and supplying materials during production. Tasks associated with this position may require being outdoors to move or unload goods; driver must be prepared to work in any weather conditions.

Essential Functions:
Load and unload trailers Assist in production line set-up, supply materials during production Perform routine pre-shift inspections of forklift Sort, pack, wrap, tie and label products as instructed by superior Transport unloaded goods to freezer or cooler Operate forklift in dock area or inside a production line with limited space Assist with clean-up tasks at the end of production shift. Follow all company safety and PPE policies. This position may be rotated through any of the GP3 responsibilities throughout a shift depending on company need, as directed by production leadership. Must have open availability to work a flexible schedule when business needs require, including; ability to work entire shift, extended shift hours, weekends, holidays, and required overtime in accordance with Oregon State laws. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibility but may provide leadership and guidance to volunteers and/or temporary staff and/or assist with orientation of new members of Scenic Fruit Company.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must be a minimum of 18 years of age and have at least 1 year of recent verifiable forklift experience in a fast-paced environment; preferably in a production or manufacturing setting. Must be able to pass forklift written evaluation as well as a hands-on evaluation administered onsite by a Company appointed trainer. Employment offers are contingent upon successfully passing a pre-employment drug screen. Work Environment:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is frequently required to talk, hear, sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel; and is occasionally required to climb, balance, crouch and crawl; is frequently required to push, pull, lift and carry up to 40 pounds with assistance; required to maintain body balance while ascending or descending the forklift, and to maintain body equilibrium while bending at the waist or at the knees. Ascending and/or descending from forklift throughout the shift will be constant and routine. The employee is routinely required to reach with hands and arms; work with the hand or hands in handling, seizing, holding, or grasping motions and with the fingers in fingering, picking and pinching actions to operate objects, tools or controls. Employee will be subject to repetitive motion of arms, wrists, hands, feet and fingers. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Environment may be wet, hot and can consist of temperature extremes and excessive noise levels. Employees will be required to adhere to general safety and food safety protocols which may include; wearing smocks, hairnets, beard nets if applicable and will be required to consistently practice the washing of hands. This position consistently works with and around moving parts. While performing various forklift tasks driver may be exposed to odors and fumes. Attention to surroundings is crucial as it is a very busy production/manufacturing environment with a lot of foot traffic in the production line room. Forklift safety training is provided.
