Job Description
Job Title:
Supply Chain Operator (Forklift)Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all safety/housekeeping requirements within a plant warehouse setting.
- Use of forklift in the timely loading or unloading of finished product and raw materials to/from trucks/railcars, and from the production line.
- Interpret customer orders so as to pull, stage, load, and check materials in a manner that ensures accurate and timely shipment.
- Recording of shipping data and other results in the manner required.
- Troubleshoot and apply basic maintenance skills to help service equipment.
- Expected to take an active role in all plant safety and continuous improvement initiatives as required by supervision.
- Adaptable to scheduling requirements including shiftwork, assignment of overtime, working weekends, etc.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Able to safely operate a forklift in a manufacturing setting.
- Ability to inspect and troubleshoot the forklift to detect issues and maximize operational availability.
- Ability to interpret verbal instructions and written documents such as customer orders.
- Ability to apply basic computer skills required for data entry and reporting.
- Proficiency at accurately recording shipping data.
- Possess basic maintenance skills needed to help service equipment.
- Effective teamwork and communication skills needed with all co-workers.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
