GED Climbing Full Job Description Brief Summary:

The Crane/Forklift Operator uses an overhead crane to hoist large pieces of material to aide the department in pipe production

Responsibilities:

Assist Machine Operator in the setup of department for processing of material. Operate overhead crane with chains or C-hook to move coils, materials, and equipment. Operate various stations along the slitting line in a safe and productive manner, observe flow and monitor quality of material as it is processed to detect irregular cutting and winding; make necessary adjustments to correct. Band coils and move coils to designated areas. Basic housekeeping in general work area. Perform general maintenance and lubrication and repair on the department. Responsible for completing any assignments given by Supervisor, even those assignments not specifically listed in this job description.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma, OR Equivalency Certificate, (GED (General Education Degree), etc.) One to three months equivalent experience in related field OR, Proof of training in an area related to the job assignment Must be able to read and understand the Procedures and Work Instructions for the position held. Able to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to follow job and safety requirements.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; use hands to fingers, hands to feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to climb, balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit.
