Silver Recycling, Inc., has been an industry leader with a footprint covering southwestern United States and Mexico, based out of El Paso, Texas. The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the safe inspections, maintenance and repairs of forklift, tractor trailers, balers, conveyors, loaders and other heavy machinery. Essential Responsibilities and Duties Assists in pre-operational checks Performs routine preventative maintenance Submits completed accurate and detailed work orders to supervisor immediately upon completion of repair Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions. Carry out assigned dept pre-operational checks. Follow all company safety rules, such as Lock-Out/Tag-Out operations to ensure the safe repair of any piece of equipment. Attends/Participates in weekly safety meetings. Reports accidents and incidents of any kind immediately to the supervisor. Troubleshooting by observing mechanical devices in operation; use of precision measuring and testing instruments. Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts. Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance. Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Performing other duties as assigned by direct supervisor or department manager Ideal candidates will be successful in organization, time management, problem solving, attention to detail and ability to multitask. Physical Demands and Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, this position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently push, pull or carry up to 50 pounds. Must be able to climb ladders and stairs. Must be able to utilize hand tools and operator controls. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This role may be exposed to weather conditions. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position and may require overtime based on business need. Required Education and Experience 1. High school diploma or equivalent required. 2. Technical training; at least two years of experience in related area and/or a combination of education and experience preferred.
