Responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing mobile heavy equipment such as bulldozers, cranes, graders, excavators, backhoes, and loaders. Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues using testing devices and visual inspections. Perform routine maintenance, including lubrication, oil changes, filter replacements, and adjustment of equipment components to ensure optimal performance and safety. Disassemble, repair, and reassemble engines, transmissions, brakes, and other mechanical assemblies (excluding engines themselves). Replace defective or worn parts, such as gears, bearings, hoses, and control systems. Interpret technical manuals, schematic diagrams, and manufacturer instructions to perform repairs and upgrades accurately. Utilize welding, fabrication, and machining skills as needed for structural repairs and modifications. Operate various hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and efficiently. Maintain detailed records of all maintenance, repairs, and parts used, ensuring compliance with company protocols and industry regulations. Collaborate with operators, supervisors, and other mechanics to identify equipment issues and recommend solutions. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to workplace safety standards and environmental regulations. Stay updated on advancements in heavy equipment technology and participate in ongoing training as required. Physical requirements include lifting heavy components, working in varied outdoor conditions, and standing for extended periods. Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills are essential. Candidates should demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality workmanship in all tasks.
